BURNSVILLE, MN — As south metro residents trade their summer routines for autumn weekends, the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) is stepping up to serve as the official royal transport to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.

With the festival running weekends and holidays through October 4, 2026, MVTA has updated its special event scheduling to help festivalgoers bypass the notorious traffic backups and parking headaches outside the Shakopee festival grounds.
👑 Post-Labor Day Schedule & Transit Hubs
Now that the holiday weekend has passed, MVTA is expanding its weekend shuttle network. High-frequency, direct buses will run back and forth throughout the day from three key south metro locations:
  • Eagle Creek Park & Ride (Shakopee)
  • Burnsville Transit Station (Burnsville)
  • Southbridge Park & Ride (Shakopee)
Buses are scheduled to run continuously to ensure passengers spend less time waiting at the curb and more time enjoying the jousting, giant turkey legs, and artisan markets.
🎫 Fares and Boarding Info
  • Ticket Cost: Passengers can secure a $6.00 round-trip ticket.
  • How to Buy: Tickets can be purchased digitally in advance using the official RideMVTA App, or riders can pay with exact cash at the boarding stations.
By utilizing the dedicated transit lanes and park-and-ride lots, MVTA aims to keep regional traffic moving smoothly during one of the south metro's busiest autumn attractions.
