How to Use SNAP EBT at the Minneapolis Farmers Market
If you live in Scott County or Dakota County, you can easily stretch your food benefits by making a short weekend trip up to the Minneapolis Farmers Market. Through the Minnesota Market Bucks program, your money goes twice as far on fresh, healthy, locally grown food.
When you spend $10 on your SNAP-EBT card, you receive an extra $10 in free Market Bucks, giving you $20 total to spend on your family.

🛠How the Matching Program Works
Getting your free matching dollars is simple and takes just a few minutes at the market:
- Step 1: Visit the Information Booth – When you arrive at the Minneapolis Farmers Market, head straight to the central info booth during EBT hours (Friday through Sunday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM).
- Step 2: Swipe Your Card – Tell the staff member you want to use your Minnesota SNAP-EBT card and choose the amount you want to spend.
- Step 3: Get Your Tokens & Free Match – If you choose to slide $10, the market will give you $10 in EBT tokens plus an additional Subsidized $10 in Free Market Bucks vouchers.
- Step 4: Shop the Market Vendors – Use your $20 combined total to buy farm-fresh eggs, meat, bread, dairy, fruits, and vegetables from any participating vendor stall.
(Note: Depending on seasonal state funding and specific market layouts, you may also qualify for an additional Produce Bucks match to get even more free vegetables. Always ask the booth staff for the day's current promotions.)
