The Hub of the South Metro: A Profile of Eagan Transit Station

The platform layout coordinates five foundational fixed routes alongside microtransit alternatives, split evenly between urban express corridors and local south-metro connections.
🏎 Express Routes
📍 Local & Intercity Connections
  • Route 436 (Eagan – Viking Lakes – MSP Terminal 1 – 46th St Station): Operating seven days a week, this highly practical local route links the Eagan Transit Station to the Omni Hotel at Viking Lakes, flows straight through Terminal 1 of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, and terminates at the METRO Blue Line’s 46th Street Light Rail Station.
  • Route 445 (Cedar Grove – Eagan TS – Thomson Reuters – YMCA): This vital local cross-town loop connects the station to Eagan’s Central Park, the Eagan Community Center, the local YMCA, the massive Thomson Reuters corporate campus, and the nearby Cedar Grove Transit Station.
  • Route 446 (Eagan to 46th Street LRT Station): Running seven days a week, this north-south local connector maps a path from Diffley Road and Pilot Knob Road in Eagan up to the 46th Street Light Rail Station, granting riders a reliable bypass to Minneapolis transit tracks.
📱 On-Demand Microtransit
  • MVTA Connect (Eagan Zone): For destinations not explicitly covered by the fixed lines, riders inside the city boundaries can use the RideMVTA smartphone app to call a shared microtransit ride between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM daily. The service is specifically designed to shuttle people from their doorsteps directly to the Eagan Transit Station to seamlessly catch the express buses listed above.
